Week 12 FAAB Guide

Welcome back in for another FAAB article! I hope everyone is enjoying this year and their fantasy baseball journey. Some weeks are more challenging than others with vacations, obligations, etc. Just remember to keep working towards that goal and stay sharp! Let’s dive in!

Schedule Notes πŸ—“οΈ

Best schedules:

ARI, BOS, KC, MIA, MIN, PIT, SD, SF and WAS all play a 7-game week (Mon-Sun).

Worst schedules:

Unfortunately, BAL, CHC, LAA, LAD, STL get the 5-game week, with CHC/STL playing just 2 from Fri-Sun, so be wary of that!

Hot Commodities πŸ”₯

Bo NaylorCLEC$18-$60+This is one of those situations where the amount of cash you have left and the need for catcher are the two biggest factors, Bo could be a mini-Daulton Varsho from the jump with his solid hitting and steals potential.
Danny JansenTORC$4-$24His AVG will likely always be low but he can run into HR.
Nick PrattoKC1B/OF$2-$15Leadoff hitter with power in the bat.
Anthony VolpeNYYSS$1-$10His stats are poor but he can and will run into HR as a floor, and he could improve as his experience grows, I would add him if I could.
Oneil CruzPITSS$1-$4Stash him if you can, some scooped him last week and he could produce in August til the end of the year, a long wait but it’s for an elite roto talent.
Luis MatosSFOF$10-$50+An all-around athletic CF bat who barely Ks and is finally finding power at age 21, this is a nice bonus to find if you can add him.
Will BensonCINOF$3-$7Doing a bit better in his second try this year with the Reds, he has power-speed if he can get into a groove.
Emmet SheehanLADP$30-$65+Bids will vary on this electric young arm, yes there will be workload questions but we play a week-to-week game. If I needed pitching, I wouldn’t be afraid to go after him.
Scott McGoughARIP$10-$25PT closer in Arizona who looks decent enough to use weekly.

Serviceable Streamers ♻️

Jake BauersNYY1B/OF$2-$6Powerbat who is leading off for the Yankees, he has a role for now until they get healthier or upgrade over him.
Luis RengifoLAA2B/3B$2-$6Will get an uptick in PT with Rendon and Urshela injured currently.
Jesse WinkerMILOF$1-$3Impacting the ball with authority in the Minors and he is worth a very cheap look if you want an OF and believe in his skillset.
Edward OlivaresKCOF$2-$8His PT looks much more full than normal but KC constantly jerks him around, decent 15-15 skills.
Ryne NelsonARIP$1-$5Double start for those who are willing to embrace risk in search of volume.
Kutter CrawfordBOSP$8-$16A favorite of mine who is getting more and more stretched out.
Paul BlackburnOAKP$11-$22Doing what every fantasy manager dreams off, ditching blah FB for much better slider.

Spec PlaysπŸ‘“

Donovan SolanoMIN1B/3B$1Surprisingly producing, good lineup spot and gets a full Mon-Thurs.
Michael BuschLAD2B$1Very spec add, with Muncy on the IL he will get a test drive, but projections are low on him and he’s really an OBP play.
Matt VierlingDETINF/OF$1Low end decent glue guy.
Aaron HicksBAKOF$1Reaching a better level in BAL, again, and OBP play but he’s worth and end-of-waterfall click.
Samad TaylorKC2B/OF$1-$7Very interesting SB add for those needy in that category.
Sal FrelickMILOF$1Worth a stash if you can hold him, he might get the call soon and has AVG/SB upside.
Mason MillerOAKP$1Throwing again and if you can hold him he’s worth a cheap stash.
Jose UrquidyHOUP$1Throwing again and if you can hold him he’s worth a cheap stash.
Ross StriplingSFP$1Made a rehab in Arizona, very blah and matchup based but he could be out there.

Dynasty Darlings πŸ’Ž

Welbyn FranciscaCLEINF$1-$20High upside potential J2 play, shoot for the moon and move on if he isn’t producing by the end of the year.

Drop Department βœ‚οΈ

Mitch HanigerSFOFDropOut for too long to hold.
Carlos CarrascoNYMPDropI was interested in him but he doesn’t have the stuff to provide us with enough fantasy value, I am okay to move on now.
