Week 20 FAAB Guide

These are officially the Dog Days of Summer! It is even more paramount to set those lineups optimally, managing the categories with precision and aiming to get the most of our remaining season to churn out roto-glory. Let’s dive in!

Schedule Notes 🗓️

Best schedules:

ARI, KC, NYM, SD, SEA, STL all play a 7-game week (Mon-Sun).

Worst schedules:

CHC, CWS, CIN, MIN, PHI, TOR have a 5 game week this week, so be wary about benching the fringe options.

Hot Commodities 🔥

Jake BauersNYY1B/OF$1-$3Staged for good PT moving fwd and park suits him well, can provide runs.
Alec BurlesonSTL1B/OF$1-$3Burleson is a bat I was higher on that most, and he is now given a good opportunity. Everywhere he goes he just hits, and the MLB could be no different he can execute.
Davis SchneiderTOR2B$1-$3Projected for close to a league-average bat, Schneider is a nice little pop-up player to ride the wave with. Perhaps he sticks, projections have him mostly for around a league-average bat, so not bad but not special.
Brayan RocchioCLESS/3B$2-$5A nice real life prospect with a chance to grow into fantasy useful, Rocchio is a chip away at everything player, except for power. Provides a presence in AVG, runs and some SB.
Trevor StoryBOS2B/SS$25-$100Since returning on tuesday, Story has only had 1 day off. Bodes well for his PT, but his timing is off right now with a 43% K Rate. I am a Story fan, and if I had the budget I would be aggressive with him, but he is coming off a major surgery, look at what Harper has done, it takes a while to get back right.
Royce LewisMIN3B/SS$3-$10We can only hope that he is able to stay healthy and be better in his return from the IL, if you liked him before, there is no reason to change your mind now.
Johan RojasPHIOF$1-$4Emerging as a decent SB source, I like him if you need bags.
Lawrence ButlerOAKOF$1-$2Potential combo guy with some pop, Butler is a nice sleeper prospect to scoop up this week.
Cole RagansKCP$4-$16Despite some control issues, K upside like this seldom appears on the wire towards the end of the year.
Brandon PfaadtARIP$2-$5Much better in his 2nd go around, leaning less on his poor fastball and improving as a result.
Emerson HancockSEAP$3-$7Overshadowed by pitching prospects who leaped him in a great pitching org, Hancock is still worth a look in all 15 team leagues.
Michael WachaSDP$2-$8Coming back for a 2-step, you can be cautious coming off IL, but if you need volume I would consider him.
Graham AshcraftCINP$1He is still a dangerous streamer since his skills have not take a step fwd, but he is on a heather as of 6/30, 51 IP, 1.94 ERA, but a poor 6.3 K/9.

Serviceable Streamers ♻️

Mark CanhaMIL1B/OF$1Boring but plays most days.
Michael MasseyKC2B$1Improved significantly lately, by cutting his K rate down.
Luis RengifoLAA2B/SS/3B/OF$1Plays everyday and bats leadoff, provides great flexibility.
Ramon LaureanoCLEOF$1Mental uptick since moving to Cleveland, he is an interesting one dollar flyer.
David PeraltaLADOF$1Despite advanced age, this is a professional hitter who can mash RHP. Worth a look if you need HR/RBI.
Matt BrashSEAP$1Backup closer who can vulture saves with a wicked K rate. Must own in 15s.

Spec Plays👓

Tanner HouckBOSP$1Returning off the IL soon and he is good against RHB.
Reynaldo LópezLAAP$1-$2Backup closer to a struggling Estevez.
